Manchester Nat. Juried Fine Art Exhibition 2007 Third Place in Show

“Manchester National Juried Fine Art Exhibition” Third Place in Show Award, 12 12 Gallery, Richmond, VA Juror: Dr. Jefferson C. Harrison, Chief Curator/Acting Curator of American and Contemporary Art , Chrysler Museum of Art “Mr. Jaworski’s welded steel assemblage is artful, elegant, and extremely smart in its use of found and manipulated materials. Making use of everything from wrenches and springs to gears and saw teeth, he has fashioned a splendid bird-like beast that is both sculpturally whole and corporeally convincing. There’s not a wasted or extraneous piece in the entire assemblage. Working from the skeleton out, one gets a vivid sense of the actual, living presence of this crouching beast ready to “spring” (sorry, but the sculpture invites puns like this), from the clutch of its claws to the shriek from its open beak. “Splendid work!”
